In line with our areas of expertise in teaching, there are 10 specialized centers at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Within these, we research state-of-the-art issues in the fields of computer science, communication, media, health & social affairs, economics, management, technology and environmental sciences.
Focus on knowledge
As FH Upper Austria, education is our specialty. That is why we offer our employees a comprehensive range of internal and external professional development opportunities and individual coaching. We also offer the Doctoral College for Doctoral Candidates especially for our teaching and R&D staff. Young colleagues who are writing their dissertation at a university are offered the opportunity to take part in special continuing education programs free of charge.

As an employee in our research department, you have the opportunity to work on a specialist area for a few months or to pursue long-term research prospects. In addition, we support doctoral studies as well as other paths to further qualification - for example within our teaching. A typical career path as a research assistant usually begins with an internship and progresses to R&D project manager and senior researcher. Building on this, a career as a UAS professor is also possible.
